Every year, thousands of people use our websites to make one of the biggest decisions of their lives: where – and with whom – to try for a baby. We take that seriously. This page explains how content is created, checked, and updated across every website published by IVF Media Ltd., in every language we publish in.
These standards apply to all our brands:
EggDonationFriends, FertilityClinicsAbroad, FertilityRoad, WhereIVF, LesAmisduDondOvocytes, CliniquesdeFertilitealEtranger, EizellspendeFreunde, KinderwunschimAusland, OvodonazioneallEstero, ClinicheFIVallEstero, and InVitrozaGranica.
Our mission
IVF Media was founded in 2012 with a simple idea: patients considering IVF treatment abroad deserve clear, honest, complete information – regardless of their situation or country of origin. Fertility treatment is complicated enough; finding trustworthy information about it shouldn’t be. Everything we publish is written for patients first: in plain language, with real facts and figures, and without judgement about anyone’s path to parenthood.
Who creates our content
Our content is produced by an in-house editorial team that has worked exclusively in the fertility field – our senior editors have been in this sector since 2008. The team is led by our Chief Marketing Officer, Aleksander Wiecki, who also chairs the Cross Border Reproductive Care Committee of the European Fertility Society. You can see who we are, including full bios, on our team page.
Writers working on our websites follow a single editorial playbook: short sentences, concrete numbers, no scare tactics, no false hope. If a treatment has a 30% success rate, we say 30% – not “excellent results.”
Where our facts come from
We build every article on verifiable sources, in this order of preference: national and international treatment registries and regulators; peer-reviewed research; data reported directly by clinics and verified by our team; and our own original research, including our patient surveys – such as our 2024 study of 1,189 patients who considered treatment abroad – and our regularly updated cost data for IVF and egg donation across Europe.
When we publish a number – a price, a success rate, an age limit, a waiting time – it has a source and a date attached in our records, and we tell you when the information was last verified.
Medical review
Fertility medicine is a clinical field, and we are a media company, not a clinic. Where our content makes clinical claims – about treatments, medications, success rates, or risks – it is checked against current clinical guidance, and we work with independent fertility professionals to review it. Content on our websites is information, not medical advice: your own doctor knows your situation, and nothing we publish replaces that conversation.
Keeping content up to date
Fertility law, prices, and clinic offers change constantly across Europe. Every key guide on our websites is reviewed on a fixed cycle: cost and legal information at least quarterly, all other core guides at least once a year. When we update a page, the “last updated” date reflects a real review – we never re-date content that hasn’t been re-checked.
Independence and how we’re funded
Our websites are free for patients, and they always will be. IVF Media is funded through clearly marked partnerships with fertility clinics and industry organisations – never through the editorial content itself. What this means in practice: clinics cannot buy a recommendation, a ranking position, or a favourable review on any of our websites. Commercial listings and partner content are labelled as such and kept visibly separate from editorial material. Our comparisons and rankings are based on transparent, fact-based criteria, not on who advertises with us.
Our relationship with the European Fertility Society
IVF Media Ltd. is the main partner and sponsor of the European Fertility Society (EFS), a patient-focused organisation providing education and support to people undergoing fertility treatment. IVF Media’s CEO Jakub Dejewski serves as Chair of the Society, and CMO Aleksander Wiecki as Vice-Chair; the Society’s scientific and education committees are independently chaired. The educational platform MyIVFAnswers.com is an EFS project operated in cooperation with IVF Media. We disclose this relationship wherever it is relevant.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to support research, drafting, and translation across our languages. Every published piece is directed, verified, and edited by our human editorial team, and every fact goes through the same sourcing standards described above – regardless of how the first draft was produced. Responsibility for what we publish always sits with named people, not with tools.
Corrections
We publish across five languages and eleven websites, and despite our checks, mistakes can happen. When we get something wrong, we correct it quickly and transparently: significant corrections are noted on the page itself. If you spot an error on any of our websites, tell us at editorial@ivfmedia.org and we will review it within five working days.
