Chief Marketing Officer, IVF Media Ltd., Vice-Chair, European Fertility Society

Aleksander Wiecki has worked in the fertility and IVF field since 2008, leading marketing and patient experience across the industry – for fertility clinics, genetic laboratories, and, since 2012, the patient education websites of IVF Media. He is a co-founder of IVF Media Ltd., Vice-Chair of the European Fertility Society, and Chair of the Society’s Cross Border Reproductive Care Committee. Member of the the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE)
His work sits in the space between patients and clinics: making sure people considering IVF abroad get clear, honest, complete information before they commit to one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
A career built around the patient’s side of fertility treatment
Aleksander joined the fertility sector in 2008, at a time when patients researching treatment abroad had almost nothing to go on: no comparable success rates, no transparent pricing, no independent information in their own language. Over more than 17 years he has managed marketing and patient experience for organisations across the industry, working with IVF clinics and genetic laboratories across Europe, and seeing from the inside both what clinics communicate and what patients actually need to hear.
That gap – between what patients are told and what they need to know – became the founding idea of IVF Media. Together with Jakub Dejewski, Aleksander built a group of educational websites that today reaches patients in five languages across 11 sites, including EggDonationFriends, Fertility Clinics Abroad, Fertility Road and WhereIVF, with sister sites in German, French, Italian and Polish. All of them follow the same principle he advocates publicly: transparency and truth about IVF treatment, with facts and figures patients can act on.
Patient advocacy and the European Fertility Society
In April 2020, as fertility clinics across Europe closed during the pandemic and thousands of patients were left mid-treatment without answers, Jakub Dejewski and Aleksander developed the #StrongerTogether initiative to keep patients informed and supported. That initiative grew into the European Fertility Society, founded in December 2020, an evidence-based organisation providing education, tools and support to people undergoing fertility treatment.
At the Society, Aleksander serves as Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee and chairs the Cross Border Reproductive Care Committee, which focuses on the patients his whole career has centred on: the growing number of people who cross a border for IVF, egg donation or embryo donation, and who need reliable information about laws, safety, costs and standards of care in a country that is not their own.
Research, publications and speaking
Aleksander works on IVF Media’s original research on fertility treatment abroad, including the group’s patient surveys – most recently a 2024 study gathering 1,189 responses from patients considering treatment abroad – and the annually updated IVF Abroad Patient’s Guide covering treatment in 11 countries.
He is a regular presenter of patient webinars, including sessions on choosing an IVF clinic abroad, comparing destinations and success rates, and treatment safety, and he appears at major fertility events including ESHRE meetings and the Fertility Show in London. His talks return to the same practical questions patients ask: what makes a clinic safe, how to read success-rate statistics honestly, and what to check before signing anything.
“Patients don’t need marketing from us. They need the information a well-informed friend inside the industry would give them: what things really cost, what the law really says, and what the numbers really mean. That is what all of our websites are for.”
